Model 05106 Wind
Monitor MA.
|
Model 05106 Wind Monitor MA is specifically designed for a Marine environment
The wind speed sensor is a four blade helicoid propeller. Unique transducer produces a
pulse signal without electrical contacts or slip rings.
The wind direction sensor is a durable molded vane. Vane angle is sensed by a precision
potentiometer housed in a sealed chamber. With a known voltage applied to the potentiometer
the output voltage is directly proportional to the vane angle.
All materials are carefully selected for corrosion resistance and maximum durability in the
harsh marine environment. Stainless steel bearings are used throughout.
Special waterproof lubricant further enhances reliability.
The instrument mounts on standard 1 inch pipe.

Model 05108 Wind
Monitor HD.
|
Model 05108 Wind Monitor HD is a Heavy Duty Unit with ceramic bearings
The HD utilizes extremely long-wearing, oversize ceramic bearings to increase
service life many times longer than standard stainless steel bearings.
In addition to being more wear resistant, ceramic is resistant to corrosion
in environments that are hostile to steel bearings.
The Wind Monitor-HD also has oversized propeller shaft, high pitch propeller
and locking propeller nut, all features that will further enhance long-term reliability of the sensor.

Model 05108-45 Wind
Monitor HD-Alpine.
|
Model 05108-45 Wind Monitor HD-Alpine is a Heavy Duty Unit with ice-resistant coating
The HD-Alpine utilizes extremely long-wearing, oversize ceramic bearings to increase
service life many times longer than standard stainless steel bearings.
In addition to being more wear resistant, ceramic is resistant to corrosion
in environments that are hostile to steel bearings.
The Wind Monitor-HD-Alpine also has an oversized propeller shaft, high pitch propeller
and locking propeller nut, all features that will further enhance long-term reliability of the sensor.
All external housing surfaces are coated with a specially formulated, ice-resistant coating
to improve performance in harsh Alpine conditions. The all-black color scheme further
enhances the ice shedding performance of the sensor. |

Model 12005 MicroVane
and 3 Cup Anemometer
|
The Gill MicroVane and
3-Cup Anemometer measure horizontal wind direction and wind speed.
Sensitive enough for detailed wind studies, these sensors are
rugged enough for permanent installation with only periodic
maintenance. Vane angle is sensed by a precision conductive
plastic potentiometer. For greater durability, the 12005 and 12305
Models have a thin aluminum fin. Aluminum fin models are somewhat
less sensitive than the EPS fin models. The 3-Cup Anemometer is
constructed with lightweight, UV resistant plastic cups.
Standard models utilize a sensitive DC tach-generator to measure
wind speed.wave. Models 12002 and 12005 combine a MicroVane and
3-Cup Anemometer with a 76cm mounting crossarm to minimize
potential wake effects. |

Anemometer with 08274 EPS Propeller
|
The Gill Propeller
Anemometer is a low threshold precision air velocity sensor
employing a fast response helicoid propellar. Air flow from any

the component of the air flow which is parallel to the axis of its
rotation. |

Model 27005T UVW
Anemometer
|
The Gill UVW
Anemometer measures the three orthogonal vectors of the
wind:
along wind component "U", across wind component
"V", and vertical wind component "W". The
three Propeller Anemometer sensors are mounted at right angles on
a common mast. Each sensor measures the wind component parallel
with its axis of rotation. Propeller response as a function of
wind angle approximates the cosine law, allowing true wind
velocity and direction to be calculated. The UVW Anemometer
is designed for maximum sensitivity at lower wind speeds. Optional
carbon fiber thermoplastic (CFT) propellers are available for
applications requiring greater range and durability. Rain and dust
are excluded from the precision bearings by a continuous duty air
blower that keeps the instrument under a slight positive
pressure. The Propeller Anemometer is a precision air speed
measuring instrument. The four blade helicoid propeller drives a
miniature tach-generator. Output voltage is directly proportional
to the axial component of the wind speed. Signal polarity
indicates direction of propeller rotation. The Propeller
Anemometer is also available with single or dual direction
photochopper transducer. The Propeller Anemometer is especially
suited for measuring the vertical wind componenet. Since normal
wind direction seldom exceeds ±30º from horizontal, propeller
response can be calibrated to follow the cosine law within 3% over
this range. |
